General Information

VISA

Please check whether you need a visa to visit Israel. More information can be found at the Strings website.

Location

Holon, in which HIT is located, lies just south of Tel-Aviv.

The main entrance to HIT is from Eli'ezer Hoffien St., just before it becomes Golda Me'ir St.

The conference will take place at the HIT conference hall, building 3.

Accommodation and Transportation

There are no hotels in Holon, though a limited selection of apartments can be found for example in Airbnb.

Since the conference is a satellite conference of Strings, it is assumed that most participants will stay in Tel-Aviv.

Transportation from Tel-Aviv to HIT and back will be provided.

Please let us know by email where you intend to stay.

Details about special rates for Tel-Aviv hotels for Strings can be found at the Strings 2017 accommodation page.

Please note that the special rates are available starting from Friday June 23 and for participants of Strings only and when reserving accommodation through the Strings website.

It may be possible to arrange additional nights before this (at a higher rate) by directly contacting the Strings conference secretariat.

Another option for accommodation is in Bat-Yam. Bat-Yam beach is among the nicest in Israel (though it can become crowded).

Bus 99 goes from Ben-Gurion St. in Bat-Yam, via Yoseftal St. directly to Hoffien St. and HIT.

Other buses (e.g. 6) can be used as well.

Bus details can be found at the Dan bus company and the Egged bus company web-pages.

It is also possible to get to HIT by train. The nearest train station is Bat-Yam – Yoseftal,

located about 1km from HIT on the same main road (Yoseftal, which later becomes Hoffien).

Please note that during Shabbat (effectively from about 16:00 on Frinday and until about 20:00 on Saturday) no public transportation would be available other than taxis.

More useful information can be found at the Strings 2017 general-information page and elsewhere on that site.

Other satellite conferences to Strings are a school at the Technion and a workshop at the Weizmann Institute.
